That's what I was expecting too. I was excited to see some kind of topographic map, or an open web map with pins for particularly good skating areas, etc. Could be a cool project.

Tangential: I'm currently planning to create a set of GPX files for trail skating around my local city, including a description of the skating surface, traffic, safety, etc. to give an idea of how what experience level is recommended.

Skating is a great way to see the same local places from a very different perspective (than my usual driving through without paying any attention to anything other than driving / getting to the destination).
