After 2 weeks of working on this side project outside my day job, I'm excited to launch AIReelity, a GPT-4 powered app that connects movie fans with the real filming locations of their favorite films.

By simply entering a movie title, the app uses GPT4 to surface the actual destinations - cities, landmarks, landscapes - where iconic scenes were shot.

I'm also testing it out with Llama 3 via Replicate.com.

If you're a film buff like me, looking to walk in the footsteps of your cinema heroes or a travel lover seeking offbeat inspiration, this AI explorer aims to bring the magic of the movies into your real world adventures..

It gives out notes and recommendations pointing out scenes in movies where the film locations are present in.

It highlights landmarks to building, diners, cafes and natural havens to explore.

Film tourism research used to take a lot of time with checking various sources, then delving into landmark names and basic recommendations.

I made this free app in a hope to help other movie lovers like myself :)

Great app! Love it! I’ve planned two trips using this. Gives you these fantastic locations that you’d never find otherwise.

Thank you! :)

I wanted film lovers to have an ease of access and a simple to read format.

I working on adding a list of locations in and around that can form a dedicated itinerary.

Will also link this feature to the main app, Tourist vs Local travel comparisons of any destination city.

Trying to give a holistic and new travel experience to users!

cool app, even works for local movies in other countries like hungary and viet nam

Thanks so much! Took me a minute to get that going and the solution I found was as long as folks entered movie name in Latin accepted characters it will return the details in a perfect way.

That is the reason I left it to be a text box instead a drop-down of Pre listed movies.
